Specialist Search Training Course
Officers will be trained to search areas, items and objects in a systematic and methodical manor.
The systems can be utilised in drug, explosives or general crimes scenes. The operatives will also be trained to search urban and rural areas. Basic Forensic and bomb scene management will also feature as part of the training.
The course will be run as a continual assessment and the officers will be expected to pass a written test at the end of the course. The officers will be expected to complete a number of operational searches during the year.
Annual refresher training will take place once a year when the officers will be re-licensed.
Dog Training Course
Specialist search dog’s can be provided and trained in conjunction with the handler for general duties, to work with firearm’s team and to search for explosives or drugs.
The duration of these courses will vary according to the skill base required.

Trainees at the first level will gain the basic building blocks of Command decisionmaking; these skills are built on with scenario based training up to Strategic management of major incidents.
