The best way to test whether you have a problem with the gasket on your fridge is to trap a piece of paper in the refrigerator door and try to pull it out. If the paper slides out easily or wont hold in place, then the gasket needs to be replaced.
Dirty Coils
There is an evaporator coil inside of the refrigerator and a condenser coil on the outside. These coils are important as they allow the fridge fluid to perform its task of heat exchange. If the coils are covered in dust or other forms of dirt, then the fridge has to work harder to sustain the set temperature. This is what leads to overcooling. Thermostat is Defective
The thermostat is built to automatically stop once the refrigerator has reached the set temperature. This means that the temperature of the refrigerator will remain fixed. It is essential to keep the refrigerator at the desired and fixed temperature. If the thermostat is faulty, it can cause your refrigerator to overcool as its control over the temperature can be lost.
